I'm new to Maya and am trying to bridge two meshes in the first modeling exercise (to make a helmet). The instructions said to select Select > Select Border Edge Tool and then to select the 5 border Edges on the original polygon and then the 5 on the newly created bottom part and then I am to select Edit Mesh > Bridge and to set the division to 0 and then to check Bridge. I did all of these
- I am trying to link two mesh objects, each one has its own UV mapping, both are using the same texture, how can I link the two objects and keep the UV mapping of both objects? It only keeps the one atm. Or is there a way of copying the entire UV map of the one object and paste it when the objects are linked?
- If you have separate meshes for each part, you can just combine them into one mesh as long as they don't need to move relative to each other. If there are multiple texture files for a model, each set of faces with a texture will have to be rendered as a separate object, meaning more render calls. Just write it to work the way you want; you'll figure it out.
